CHRISTMAS
It was winter across the land
A faint wintry sun
Peered through the bare branches
Sending pale bars of light
To fall gently across the path
There is solitude, sadness and also peace
In the cold air
That carried the clean frosty smell
Of mornings in the countryside
And with it came memories of Christmas past
The love, hugs ,kisses, laughter and warmth
Then Christmas present
The love, hugs, kisses, laughter
And of the promise of better things to come
Then Christmas future
The love, hugs, kisses, laughter
And the thought of being with you forever!
